How to Spot Scam Calls in Singapore

Common patterns behind scam calls, spoofed local numbers, and social-engineering tactics aimed at Singapore residents.

Last updated: 4 July 2026

Scam calls often rely on urgency, fear, or fake authority. A caller may pretend to be from a bank, government agency, courier, or police unit and push you to act immediately.

Local-looking caller IDs can be spoofed. A number that appears to be from Singapore is not proof that the caller is genuine. Treat unexpected requests for money transfers, account verification, or app installs with caution.

End the call if something feels off. Use ScamShield, contact the organization through a trusted public number, and report serious cases through the anti-scam channels listed in our reporting guide.
